The donor site from where the strip is removed is sutured.
The operated site is covered with a surgical cap which
can be removed when you reach home. There would be swelling
of the forehead for 1 -3 days. The hair will usually fall
off with the scab in 3-4 weeks after the surgery. New
hairs will start growing in about 10 weeks after the surgery.
The procedure can be repeated after 6 weeks. With more
sittings the density of hair growth becomes better. Patients
with small amount of hair at the back and sides of head
may not be good candidates for this surgery. Hair from
some other parts of the body of from some other person
cannot be used for hair transplant.
